Hello! I’d like to thank you for wanting to learn more about me as I run for a position on the Wilkes-Barre City Council in District C during the 2019 election. District C includes wards 7, 9, 10 and 11, spanning the Mayflower Section, the Heights, and the Downtown, where I have resided with my husband and two children throughout the last 26 years. In that time, I’ve established a reputation as a proponent for positive change in our area by supporting local charities, artists & creative centers, small businesses and our recreational assets throughout the region, of course most passionately, for those in Wilkes-Barre. I’ve become known for my photography and reflections of the region’s many natural areas and points of interest through my instagram account, @MsWilkesBarre. A nickname earned through my passion of sharing my love of this city.
I am employed as an Account Executive specializing in client services for Geisinger Health Plan. I earned my bachelor degree as an adult student at Kings College, graduating cum laude with a degree in Leadership & Global Dynamics. I later graduated from the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Core Program in 2014. Throughout that year long program, I worked on a group project which consisted of lighting up the trees that line Public Square, which can still be seen today.
Throughout the year, I stay active with volunteer efforts including events like Riverfest, Dragonboat races Chalkfest as well as coordinating charitable donations to organizations throughout the Wyoming Valley. I plan to once again take part as a team coach for the 2019 NEPA Heart Walk this coming May. I serve on several committees and boards as an advisor, mentor and volunteer including the Women with Children Program at Misericordia University, Advisory Board; Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, Women In Business Co-chair; Riverfront Parks Committee, board member; Leadership Wilkes-Barre, Advisory Committee. Most recently, I’ve begun to volunteer as a docent at the Sordoni Gallery at Wilkes University.
Thank you for listening to a bit about me. I look forward to working with you in the days ahead & humbly ask for your vote this election season.
